Call from someone saying they were from Publishers Clearinghouse

Got a call from a man named Mark Meyers saying he was from Publishers Clearinghouse. He said he was going to prove he was legit by paying all my bills. I gave him the name and phone number of my plumbing company.

I followed up with the plumbing company later to check on it. They said they would monitor if the bill got paid but nothing happened. He said the office was in the Bronx but the number he called from was based in Jamaica.

He gave me a card number to give to an agent but I canceled the card right after I hung up. I didn't lose any money but it felt off from the start.
