Thought I booked a hotel room but it was a fake site

I was trying to book a hotel room for two nights. I really thought I was on the hotel’s actual website, everything looked right so I went through with the purchase. Then I found out the reservation wasn’t even made with the hotel.

They said it was non-refundable. I lost $299.17. The website was reserve2.hotelguides.com and they’re based in Charleston, SC. Just felt like a complete waste of money.
