Got a scam call and text about a fake ROKU subscription renewal
I got a text on 1/24/26 telling me my ROKU subscription was expiring on 1/26/26 and needed to be renewed. Then this morning, 1/25/26 at 7:36 AM, I got a call that went to my voicemail saying the same thing, that I needed to renew my ROKU subscription.
I already knew there's no subscription for just having a ROKU box, so I googled it to be sure. I called them back and told the lady, who sounded like she was from a foreign country, that there is no subscription required to have a ROKU box, only for additional apps. She said, "Oh yeah you do! $189 for 2 years" and so on. I told her she's a scammer and hung up.
