Booked a hotel through a fake site and lost money
Turns out it was a scam. The person on the phone was pretending to be a real business but it was all fake. I ended up losing $233.12 on a reservation that wasn't real. I didn't find out until I showed up and the hotel had no record of my booking.
The site took my money for a reservation I never actually made. I have no idea how to get it back.
