Turf installer took my deposit and never showed up

I found Sandlot Innovations through Thumbtack.com. Alejandro Ramirez came out and gave me a quote for turf installation. I didn't check the reviews online beforehand, but when I looked later most were zeros.

He asked for half the money up front to start the work and buy the materials. I should have asked more questions but I didn't see the actual product before handing over the check—like the size of the grass or type. Gave him $1750 and he said he would be here on Monday, today. Never showed up and didn't call.

I think he just takes money from new people to pay his workers from past jobs. His number is (702) 746-4339 and he's based in Las Vegas, NV.
