Garage door repair overcharged me and used weak springs that broke in a month

I called this company from Santa Rosa to fix a broken garage door spring. They sent a technician out. The whole time he kept trying to sell me more stuff. We finally agreed on the repair and he gave me an estimate.

After he finished the job, the bill was over five hundred dollars more than the estimate. He said the estimate didn’t include taxes and a credit card fee. I told him I wouldn’t pay more than what we agreed on. He gave in, but wasn’t happy about it.

About a month later, the door opener started acting up. I had to help lift the door by hand. I had a local place come look at it. They said the springs the first guy put in were too weak and I got massively overcharged. Some of the hardware was even bent during installation. The local company fixed everything for $1500. The first guy charged me $4636 for a bad job that didn’t even last.
