Scammed out of $455 for a free harp from a Facebook giveaway
I saw someone named Serenity on Facebook Marketplace saying they were giving away a free harp for their sister, Joyce. I got in touch with Joyce through her email, [email protected]. She said the harp was her late husband's and she just wanted to give it away.
But then she said I had to pay for shipping and insurance. She connected me to a guy named Henry. He said he was the only one who could ship it through a company called Secure Line. I sent the first payment.
After that, they just kept coming up with more costs. Every time I paid something, there was another fee. When I finally asked for a refund, they both stopped answering my calls and emails. The phone number I had was (443) 406-0373. I lost $455 total. It was all a scam.
