Secret shopper letter asking me to buy gift cards

Got this letter in the mail about being a secret shopper. It says I have to send a text and receipt to (213)234-8988. They sent me a check for $3800 to buy Apple cards and Sephora cards from Walgreens, CVS, Dollar tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar and more.

I was supposed to keep $800 for myself for buying the cards and then send receipts to two different numbers. One of them was called the Audit Department at (661)658-6452 to confirm I did the assignment. They wanted me to confirm the exact amount spent at each store and send clear pictures of the cards front and back. Email them at [email protected].

Then they also said to buy a $20 cashier check in the name Literacy Partners Fountains. Something felt off about the whole thing.
