Call from someone saying he was a sheriff deputy in Dallas

I got a call from a 972 number, 972-807-0363. The guy on the line said his name was Sheriff Deputy Ethan Welch and that he was with the Sheriff’s Office in the Dallas area.

I live in Rowlett, Texas so it sounded local at first. But something felt off. I looked up the number and it didn’t match any real sheriff department. I also couldn’t find any deputy by that name.

I didn’t give them any info or money. I just hung up. It was clearly a scam pretending to be law enforcement.
