Paid for chicken eggs and shipping insurance, then they stopped replying

I was looking for certain chicken eggs for a school project and someone contacted me offering to send them. They said it would be $55 total with shipping, so I paid through Zelle and gave them the school address.

Then they gave me a shipping company to verify my info. I checked and the shipment was on hold saying it needed an insurance payment. I contacted the shipper and asked why I wasn't told about this charge. They said sorry and offered to split the cost, so I sent my half. After that, they said there was a problem with the shipper paying their part.

I asked for a refund and now nobody will answer me. The shipping contact was a Viola Lapp at 858-214-4936. I have all the screenshots.
