Colorful prayer letters asking for money every week

I got this letter in the mail, it was a colorful pamphlet. It said they would pray for my problems. It was in Spanish and English. I thought it was nice at first.

They sent an envelope to write back. So I did. Then they sent another letter saying they were praying for me and asking for a cooperation. They sent another envelope. First it was every two weeks, then it turned into every week.

They kept asking for 20, 50, 100, even 250 dollars. I sent some money at first but then it got out of hand. I lost about 2400 dollars total. Their website is www.SMCES.org and they are based in Illinois. It just didn't feel right after a while.
