Donor tricked by fake wire instructions using my work email

Someone used my work email address [email protected] to send fake wire instructions to one of our donors in Pennsylvania. The donor’s staff person actually wired $150,000 to a place called ASHD LLC in Vallejo, California. I have no idea who these people are.

The instructions they sent say ASHD LLC is doing business as Social Venture Partners Dallas and they used our logo without asking. But the paperwork doesn’t even have our EIN number or our real Texas address. The bank account was at Bank of America in Vallejo. The address they listed is 21 Springstowne Center, Vallejo, CA 94591. They also had an email [email protected] which is mine but I never sent that.

I run a nonprofit in Texas and this has nothing to do with us. The donor thought it was legit because it came from my email. Now $150,000 is gone.
