Got a fake DMV notice about a traffic fine and license suspension

I got this text message saying it's from the South Carolina DMV. It says my traffic fine is overdue and they're going to suspend my license for 30 days after March 20, 2026. It also says my vehicle registration will be frozen and there's a 35% late fee.

It told me to go to a website to pay, http://sc.org-gixnm.bond/dmv. The whole thing felt off. I don't have any overdue fines from South Carolina. The website address looks weird, not like a real government site.

The message had a document number and everything, said it was legally binding. It came from a phone number, (279) 465-7851. I didn't click the link or pay anything, but it was a real scare to get a message like that out of the blue.
