Got a weird voicemail from someone named Brian Lopez about taxes

I got this voicemail from a guy saying he's Brian Lopez with the special resolution unit. He said it was about a tax matter that's time sensitive and important. He told me I needed to speak to him before my file goes to final collections.

He said he was checking files flagged before some 2026 IRS deadline and mine had unresolved items. Maybe a past balance or missing returns? He kept saying he wanted to connect before it gets passed to collections and that there might be a way to help. He left his direct line as 833-727-9955 and said he's available 9 to 5 for the rest of the week. The whole thing felt off. I don't know who this is.

Got a weird voicemail about a tax matter from a "special resolution unit"

I got this voicemail today. The guy said he's Brian Lopez with the special resolution unit. He said he's reaching out about a tax matter that's time sensitive and important.

He said he needs to speak with me before my file moves into final collections. He told me to call him back at 833-727-9955. He said he's been checking files flagged before the 2026 IRS deadline and mine has unresolved things.

It felt off. I don't know this Brian Lopez or any special resolution unit. I looked up the number and it's connected to scams. The caller ID showed a different number too, 805-706-7066, from San Luis Obispo. I never signed up for anything with them.

Brian Lopez Special Resolution Unit Scam

I been receiving harassing phone calls on daily basis by Brian Lopez and he continued say it's from the Special Resolution Unit this has continued for 3 years now especially when the call comes in to my residence when Tax time is not their yet which we are not in April 6th either there are lies from this Brian Lopez which I truly never met or have no filed paperwork on me I, told that collections matter will be follow that also there Red Flags on things I owed that can be fully resolved and also I think their still time resolve these past debts owned to IRS and of you call me back this Brian Lopez that I won't be connected to Brian Lopez by a Tax Officer to speak too when I call back I Brian Lopez is here 5 days week the goes on says during what time I'm here until it closes etc call him back at this number I got today on my answering machine that is of following @ 18775800051 this fake phony not real business he not even Brian Lopez constantly harasses me by his phone calls it still not April 7th before Tax deadline and however Tax season is not even here we our in end of February right now well I never say face to face or had no conversation with any Brian Lopez ever or is no files on me with not red flags om them I own no nothing to no IRS either or no money whatsoever and I never even bothered to request any types pf phone call back from and by this whoever this Brian Lopez is I never called him at his office I dunno even know this person never met him this Brian Lopez ever in my entire life all of these things stated on amswering machine lies and not true again I still been scamming harassing on a daily basis by this Brian Lopez who again says Hi I'm calling from Special Resolution Unit and I never heard of this ever before again this scam is has been still targeting me daily I so tried of it well again be warned of get call like I have which doesn't seem stop either it's complete scam don't call them back it's fake phony scammer who try rip you off it's recorded audio voice of whoever this guy claiming be says he is Brian Lopez when it just some type of recording phone ,y house ususally robo call last time it happened I called thks other number trying find out who would answer line when I called it was some young lady this how I know this say oh yeah this recoding messaging pf someone who using the real Brian Lopezs voice call you leave you ,message on your answering machine but young
lady sayed she didn't know who was doing this scam impersonating this Brian Lopez when I did one time actually talked and spoken to real Brian Lopez he sayed yeah he was fully aware that this telephone scam is going all over place viral this what real Brian Lopez told me using his voice and calling ppl tomsvam try rip off customers again this scam well be aware this still going on they whoever calls my house won't stop this very much involved I'm scam get your money trick fool deceive you into thinking that owe in back TAXES money lie to in message voiced recorded left on answering machine again don't fall for this or call them back as this still going on with me tried scam me out well this my review for scam of Brain Lopez scam again don't fall for this scam of get or and receive a phone call by Brian Lopez oh nobody doesn't lastly call you back unless request phone call back from and by them well thank you reading this be careful this phone scam is still active going on right now again thanks reading this hope it helps out consumers Brain Lopez Tax phone scam alert and of ever get one of these phone calls again don't call them back and because it scam

Getting constant voicemails about a tax matter from different numbers

I keep getting this voicemail, like 3 or 4 times a day, and it's always from a different number. It's a guy saying he's Brian Lopez with a special resolution unit. He says it's about a time-sensitive tax matter and he needs to speak to me before my file goes to final collection.

He tells me to call him back at 833-727-9955. He said I got flagged before some 2026 IRS deadline and that I have unresolved items, maybe a past balance or a missing return. He says he wants to connect before this gets passed on to collections and that there might still be a way they can step in to help. He says he's available 9 to 5 for the rest of the week.

It's just a recording. It feels off getting so many calls from different numbers saying the same thing.

Getting pre-recorded tax collection calls from different numbers

I keep getting the same call and voicemail from different phone numbers. It's always a pre-recorded message. I answered one time, and it was just the same recording playing; there wasn't even a live person when I picked up.

Today's call was from (502) 879-9744. The voicemail said: "Hi, this is Brian Lopez with the special resolution unit. I'm reaching out about a tax matter that's both time sensitive and important. I really need to speak with you before your file moves into final collections. Please give me a call back when you can. My direct line is (833) 727-9955. I've been checking through some files that got flagged before the 2026 IRS deadline. And yours is still showing a few unresolved items. Maybe a past balance or missing returns. I'd really like to connect before this gets passed on to collections. From what I'm seeing, there may still be a way we can step in and help. Feel free to call me back. I'm available 9 to 5 for the rest of the week."

It's just a recording every time. They leave this message from different numbers.
