Got a fake job offer and a fraudulent check from this company

I got an employment offer from Superior Construction Group INC. The acceptance letter was signed by someone named Steven Chapelle, and the contact number was 347-765-7559. The offer seemed way too good to be true, and you know what they say about that.

They sent me a check for $3,990.67. The check was drawn on Bank of Rhode Island, routing number 000005602, account number 3081004115, and it had their address as 6 Valley Road in Middletown, RI. I called the bank to verify it and they told me it was a fraudulent check. So the whole thing was a scam.
