Got a weird call about a tax file I don't have

I got this call out of nowhere. A woman said she was Danielle Cross from the priority account review department at the tax resolution and mediation office. She said she was calling on the 30th and that my file had items needing confirmation.

I’ve never contacted this company. I would never have a file there. She told me to call back at 877-938-2199 to speak to a reviewer to verify my status. She said it was important to do it within the active review window.

The whole thing felt off. The number they gave is 877-938-2199. They also had an address in Washington DC. I just wanted to note this because it was a random call about something I’m not involved with.

Got a weird voicemail about tax penalties and a deadline

I got this voicemail. It was a woman named Grace DeMarco, saying she was calling on the 29th from the priority account review department at the tax resolution and mediation office. She said she was finalizing reviews and that my file showed unresolved items. That it could result in added penalties or collection steps if left open.

She said relief options were available but that availability was tightening quickly. That following a short review, many people qualify for revised payment arrangements or complete resolution. She said a 2025 release was set to expire this month and that timing is important.

She told me to return her call today at 888-687-2046. She repeated the number, 888-687-2046. Then she said if I no longer need assistance to press nine when calling back. I never contacted any office like this. The whole thing felt off.

Got a weird call about tax issues I don't think I have

I got this voicemail from someone named Grace DeMarco. She said she was calling from the tax resolution and mediation office, from the priority account review department. The message said it was about unresolved items on my file that could lead to penalties.

She said relief options were available but tightening quickly, and that 2025 relief was expiring this month. The whole thing felt off. I don't have any open tax issues that I know of. She left a number to call back, 888-687-2046, and repeated it. She said if I didn't need assistance to press 9 when calling back. I didn't call. I just don't think this is real.
