Did a full day of office cleaning and they refused to pay me

I went to clean an office for this couple. It was four rooms, two bathrooms, and a big garage that was very dirty. We worked with no light and it took us from 10 in the morning until 8 at night to finish everything.

My mother-in-law told them we're a small team trying to start a family business. We did all the cleaning and after all that, they just refused to pay me for the job. They owe me $800, but really I'm looking for $1000 to $1200 for all the work and the extra stuff we had to get like flashlights.

The lady asked me for a W2 to pay me. I told her my mother-in-law would provide it, I don't have one. And now they say that's why they won't pay. We did the work and they won't give us the money.
