Craigslist condo rental turned out to be fake and lost deposit

I answered a Craigslist ad for a condo for lease. A man named Michael Martino contacted me. We applied and he accepted our application. He sent a lease for month to month signed by him as manager and Natasha Latiesha Brooks as landlord. They wanted first month and a refundable cleaning deposit, $2700 total, deposited into Brooks' bank account in Pennsylvania to hold the place.

Then I got an email from Anthony Allen at Tranquil Homes and Properties saying the condo could only be leased for 3 months minimum, not month to month. They wanted all 3 months paid upfront, another $2600. I said no. The Craigslist ad was taken down right away. I emailed all of them many times and nobody answered.

I looked into it more and none of these people exist. Tranquil Homes and Properties doesn't exist either. That $2700 deposit is gone.
