Job offer for home packing turned out to be a scam

I found this home packing and shipping job online through Indeed. They said the pay was $3250 salary for a 30 day probation period plus $100 for transportation costs. Then if hired permanently after that it would go up to $3450 monthly plus $150 for transportation. They said they would send a paper check for the probation period and then switch to direct deposit.

I worked from April 25th 2026 to May 25th 2026. They told me it could take up to 10 days to get a check and hear if I was hired permanently. I never got paid. I sent a few emails to [email protected] and nobody ever replied. I'm out $3450 total which includes $100 I spent on supplies for packing. The address they listed was 3435 Wilshire Blvd #1920 in Los Angeles. Phone number was (213) 423-0832. I never heard anything back from them.
