Got a fake Texas DMV text about a traffic violation

I got this text message saying it's from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. It says their system flagged an unresolved traffic violation on my record. It threatened all these steps if I didn't pay by March 2026, like suspending my vehicle registration and even my driving privileges for 30 days. It said there would be a referral to a collection service with a 55% fee.

The text told me to "Pay Now" and gave a link to https://txdmv.com-zob.com/us. It said to resolve the payment to avoid license suspension and legal issues. The whole thing felt off immediately. I know this is a phishing scam. I didn't click the link or lose any money, but it's really concerning to get a message like this pretending to be an official government agency.
