Phone call about legal document delivery with a file number

Got a call from someone named Paul Hansen saying he was from United Courier Service. He said they had legal documents to deliver to me tomorrow between 8 and 4, either at home or work. Gave me some file number D-A-401504 and said my address.

He said they will only try 2 times to deliver and I have to sign for it. If I miss it, it counts as a failed action to serve and the matter goes forward without me. Then he said to call 866-449-2046 if I need to reschedule.

The whole thing felt strange. No company name on the caller ID, just a number (986) 203-3337. I never got anything in writing from any law firm. It sounds like a phishing scam to me.
