Phone call about health benefits with a bad AI voice

Got a call from someone saying they were from United Healthcare. They said they were calling about healthcare benefits through my dad’s company.

Right away I knew it was a scam because the voice was obviously AI. It kept trying to say my name but couldn’t pronounce it right. My name is Asian so it was really obvious. They called from (651) 273-0795 and said they were in Twin Cities, MN.

I didn’t lose any money but it was just weird. They didn’t even try to sound real.

Letter saying Robert owed $15,880 for services after he died

Got a letter from United Healthcare saying Robert was denied $15,880 worth of services. The date of service on it was March 16, 2026.

Only problem is Robert passed away on January 16, 2026. He never got any equipment from them. He didn't even have any kind of ailment that would need that equipment.

Just doesn't make sense how they can send something like that.

False medical claim I never made showed up on my account

I was just checking my pending claims online and saw one I knew wasn’t mine. So I called United Healthcare to ask what it was for. They tried calling the vendor but got no response. Then they flagged it as fraudulent and a false claim. They told me to report it to the BBB so here I am. No money lost yet but it’s just weird seeing something on there that isn’t mine.

Voicemail about a prescription from someone claiming to be United Healthcare

Got a voicemail saying it was a courtesy call from United Healthcare with an important message. So I called back the number they gave, 844-316-8434. A woman answered and said she could help me with my prescription.

I have a prescription that’s waiting on UHC approval right now, so I gave her my date of birth. She spoke really broken English but she knew my prescription and which pharmacy I use. She put me on hold saying she was calling the pharmacy, then came back and told me my Rx was ready to pick up.

Later that day I went to pick up a different prescription and asked the pharmacy about the call from United Healthcare. They said no one from UHC ever called them. So I have no idea who I was actually talking to or why they wanted my DOB.

Got a fake winning email with United Healthcare logo

I got this email with the subject "Special for You." The body said "Survey About -" and had a blurry United Healthcare logo on it. It told me congratulations, that I was selected as a winner and they were gifting me an Oral-B Series 8.

There were two links to click in the email. The whole thing felt off because the email looked cheap and I don't even have insurance with United Health. I didn't click any of the links. There was an unsubscribe link too, but I didn't touch that either. It just seemed like a scam.

Got a robocall right after signing up for United Healthcare

Right after I got my United Healthcare sign up, effective 1/1/2026, I got a robocall. They left me two voicemail messages. One had a toll free number and the other a local number. The number was 1-855-409-7073. I googled that number and found a scam alert about it. I didn't call them back, so they didn't get any of my info. It just felt off getting that call right after signing up.
