Loan approval email wanted money upfront for insurance

United way trust group emailed me saying I was approved for a 5,000 dollar loan. Then they said I needed to put down 500 dollars and 1200 for insurance. Or they said I could get a cosigner who makes 90,000 a year with a 700 credit score.

It just felt off. I didnt send them anything. They wanted the money upfront before I got the loan. Their email was [email protected] and their website is unitedwaytg.com. They have an address on Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles.

I didnt lose any money but I wanted to report it. The phone number they used was (877) 223-3713.
