Guy with taped-on business cards took my money for washer repair

I called about having my washer looked at. He came the same day, June 13th, with business cards taped to his hat and shirt. He said he knew what was wrong, ordered parts that got shipped to my house, and told me he’d be back between 1 and 4 on June 15th. I gave him the $140 he asked for upfront.

He said the total was $230 and I’d pay the rest Monday. After June 15th I called him a bunch of times and told him I knew he was a scammer after I looked into it and I’d go to the police. He finally sent back $85. The part did show up at my house but I still lost $55.
