Text saying tax money is about to expire

Got a text that said something like I have tax related money ready to expire and to respond with a code. I just blocked it. Since when does tax money expire anyway? That didn't make any sense to me.

The IRS owes me money, not the other way around. So I knew it was some kind of phishing thing. No company name on the message or anything. Just a weird text out of nowhere.
