Paid a website for a passport and was told it's a scam

I was applying for my passport on what I thought was the Illinois passport site. I paid $125 on the site called US Passport and Visa Support. Everything seemed normal until I went to my local post office to finish the process.

The federal employee there told me the site is a scam. They said it has nothing to do with the United States post office or real passport payments. I already sent the money and now I'm out $125.
