Renewed my passport online and lost over $300
I didn't realize it was a scam until after I submitted everything. I never got any kind of confirmation or anything that made sense. Just took my money and my info. I'm pretty upset about it. The email they used was [email protected] and I think the address said California but that's probably fake too. I just want people to know this isn't the real passport office.
Paid for a passport renewal that turned out to be a third party site
I got a packet in the mail with my completed form and printed photos. It said I still had to make an appointment at the post office to file everything myself. That's when it hit me that this wasn't the real passport agency. I just gave all that personal information to some random company. I'm pretty worried about what they might do with my Social Security number and everything else. The phone number on their site is (855) 500-0403 and their address is a PO Box in Pacoima, CA. I never got an actual passport from them, just a stack of papers I could have done myself for free.
Passport website took my money and never sent anything
I waited a few days and tried calling the number on the site but nobody ever answered. Then I tried emailing them and still nothing back. I realized pretty quick this was a scam. I just want my money back but I don't even know who to contact at this point. The site is still up which is frustrating.
Website pretending to be passport office took my info
Then I realized it was fake. I had to go to the post office and do the whole real process over again. That cost me another $400 on top of what I already lost to this website. They asked for my info and I just gave it to them. Now I don't know what they're going to do with it. They even emailed me from [email protected] like it was legit. I'm just out all this money and my personal information is out there somewhere.
Paid $236 for forms I could have printed myself
Instead of a passport, I got a FedEx package with my application already printed out and my digital photo attached to it. That was it. I went to my passport appointment at the USPS and they told me this company just takes your money to print out the form for you. You can do the exact same thing for free on the State Department website.
So now I'm out the money and still have to pay again for the actual passport. They have a phone number (855) 500-0403 and email [email protected] but I didn't bother calling them. What's the point.
Mistakenly went to a passport website that seemed off
The site just looked kind of off. I didn't put in any personal info or anything like that. Just wanted to put this out there so no one else makes the same mistake. I'm in the US and just trying to get my passport sorted, not fall for some fake site.
Paid for a passport renewal that wasn't a government site
It wasn't until after I hit submit that I realized this wasn't a government website at all. I was rushing and didn't check the URL close enough. Now I'm out all that money and I still don't have his passport renewed. I tried contacting them at [email protected] but I haven't gotten anywhere. They have an address listed in Cushing, IA and a phone number (833) 350-8002 but I don't trust that any of it is real. Just wanted to warn others I guess.
Paid too much for passport renewal on a fake website
Anyway I paid for it and it was like $328. It seemed like a lot. So I searched what it was supposed to cost and found out there’s only one real place to get passports renewed and it wasn’t the one I used. Now I have to figure out how to make sure they don’t do anything scary with all my personal info I gave them. :-(
