Website that looks like official passport renewal but just fills out paperwork

I was trying to renew my passport online and found this website that looked totally official. It had all the government logos and everything. I thought I was on the real site.

So I paid them $160 to fill out the paperwork for me. But they didn't actually do anything except submit forms that I could have done myself for way less money. It was just a service that charges you to fill out the application forms. I didn't realize until after they took my money that it wasn't the real government site.

I feel stupid about it now but it really looked legit. The website was designed to trick you into thinking you were renewing your passport through the official channel. They just take your info and your money and then you still have to deal with the real passport process yourself.
