Paid for an item but got a box with just cardboard inside

I ordered something online and they sent it through USPS Ground Advantage. When I opened the package it was just a piece of cardboard inside. Nothing else. The box was from an address on E Hawthorne Ave in Valley Stream NY.

I didn't lose any money because I caught it right away but still what a waste of time. The phone number they gave was (000) 000-0000 which obviously isn't real. Just felt like I had to say something because this is getting ridiculous.
