Got a weird text about a vehicle protection plan I never signed up for

I got a text message out of the blue. It was about a vehicle protection plan. I never signed up for anything like that. The text had a phone number to call: (888) 571-1844. It felt off, like a phishing attempt. I didn't call it. I don't know who sent it, but they used the name "Vehicle Protection Plan." I just wanted to report this because it was unsolicited and seemed like a scam. No money was taken, but it was still unsettling to get.
