Called about selling unused timeshare weeks and lost $2,394

I got a call from these people saying my unused timeshare weeks could be sold for a good profit. They told me I just had to pay the weekly timeshare fee up front and they already had customers lined up for the weeks I had. So I paid them $2,394.

I called back in November and they said don't worry. Then I called again in June and they told me my rentals were put on pause because I didn't call in to renew. Renew what? I never agreed to any renewal. I asked for my money back since they never paid out any timeshare fees and they said the money was not for that, it was for marketing. Really?

No money back. I still have not gotten any rental income from them.
