Paid one dollar for a VIN check and got charged monthly without knowing

I went on their website vinclarity.com to look up a VIN number. It said I could pay a one time fee of just $1 to see the info. So I did that.

Then a month later I see a charge on my card for like $25. I didn't sign up for any subscription or anything. They just enrolled me without telling me and started billing me monthly. No email or anything saying I was signing up for something ongoing.

I tried to contact them at [email protected] but nobody got back to me. The address they have is in Sheridan, WY. I just wanted to look up one VIN not get charged every month.

Paid a dollar for a VIN check and now they keep charging me

I just wanted a simple VIN check for a car I was looking at. It said one dollar so I thought okay that’s fine. But then I started seeing charges on my bank account for 25 dollars every month. I never agreed to that.

I tried to contact them at the email they had, [email protected], and I called the number 1(754) 303-8347 but nobody really helped me. Their website is vinclarity.com and the address they have is in Wyoming but I don’t even know if that’s real. I lost about 50 dollars total from this.

It just feels like a trick. I paid for one thing and got signed up for something else without being told.
