Letter about a dead relative's life insurance money
They want me to help distribute the money. They said 10% has to go to charity and then me and them would split the other 90%. The address they gave is 120 Adelaide St W Ste 2500 in Toronto. The email was from [email protected].
I didn't lose any money because I didn't fall for it. But I wanted to report it so nobody else thinks they actually have a rich dead relative they never knew about. It just doesn't make any sense.
Got a weird letter about an insurance policy from a dead stranger.
They wanted to know if I would give my consent to use my name to claim this money. They said they'd give ten percent to charity and then split the rest with me. The whole letter stressed that this needed to be kept confidential.
It just feels off. The whole thing seems strange, like it's happened before. The contact email is [email protected] and they're based out of Santee, CA. I never responded to it.
