Text about no payment received and a 2019 loan I never took out

I got this text message that said “RYAN Ref# 2026-#######: No payment received. Employment/verification continues. If payment is scheduled, disregard. Call 1-888-392-0067”.

I called the number from a VOIP line and talked to a Mr. Brown. He told me I was being sued for $2358.00 by VIP Loan Shop for a 2019 loan. He had a list of names associated with me and my personal information. He kept trying to get me to confirm information and I did not.

Then he started telling me about a car I own, but I didn't own that car at the time the alleged loan was taken out. I am filing with the State Attorney General's office about this.

Texts about a notice of action and a man saying I was being sued

I got 2 texts about a notice of action. The second one said final notice. I called the number in the text, 1-833-517-5632, and a man answered. He told me I was being sued and asked if I knew what it was about. I said no. He said he could look it up and put me on a short hold. When he came back he said it was a company called vip loan shop. He also said couriers had tried to serve me papers at my home but I told him I was next door at my mom's house. He said he would update them. I haven't received anything yet.

Text about a court case from a loan company I never used

Got a text message with a case number and a phone number to call, saying I was being sued in court by VIP Loan Shop for not paying back a loan of $3,489.76. I have never heard of this company in my life.

So I called the number, and told the person I never heard of them and asked them to send me a copy of the original paperwork. They just hung up on me. The phone number they used was (866) 558-1860 and the email on the message was [email protected].

Phone call saying I owe money to a loan place I never used

Someone called me from (888) 614-5835 saying I owed money to a VIP loan shop. They said I took out a loan but I never did that. I don't even know what that place is.

They also sent mail to my house from an address at 617 w 17th street in Los Angeles. The envelope had an email on it, [email protected]. The letter looked official but there was no real company name on it that I recognized. Just said something about a debt.

I didn't send them any money. But it's annoying getting calls and mail like this. I have no idea where they got my info from.
