Paid for a death certificate but VitalChek kept asking for more papers

I paid VitalChek right away and sent them everything they asked for. But they just kept asking for more and more documents that didn't make sense. Every time we sent something in, they wanted something else.

My wife called them and their representative started screaming at her and using vulgar language. That was completely out of line. To this day we still never got the death certificate from them.

We ended up calling Multnomah County directly and they told us the fee is only $25. They sent us the certificate right away with no problems. So I paid $67.50 to VitalChek for nothing but harassment.

Birth certificate order came with hidden monthly fee I never agreed to

I needed a birth certificate so I went online and ordered one. I paid for it and thought that was it. Then I started seeing this $9.99 charge pop up on my bank statement about once a month. I never agreed to any subscription or monthly thing.

There's nothing I'm getting for this charge. No service, no product, nothing. I looked it up online and saw a bunch of other people saying the same thing happened to them. It feels like a fraud. I just wanted my birth certificate, not some hidden fee.

Paid $400 in Apple gift cards for a birth certificate and got scammed

I contacted VitalChek to get my birth certificate. They told me to pay with Apple gift cards. So I paid $400 that way. The money is gone and I never got my birth certificate. It was all a scam. I’m reporting this so maybe it doesn’t happen to someone else. The number I called was (866) 203-2777.
