Got a weird call from someone saying they were Walmart fraud department
Then during the call, she started telling me someone used my information to buy rental property at that same New York address. She said that issue with the headphones was already resolved. Then she said she needed to send me to the OIG department because it was a federal investigation and they reported it to social security. She gave me a case number, DC4685630, to use with them.
When they transferred me, the next person asked for the last four digits of my social security number. That’s when I got suspicious. I told them I was actually at a Walmart store right then and that I would handle it in person.
