Job offer asked for my W9 then never paid me

I got an email from [email protected] about a job. They said I needed to fill out a W9 form and they would pay me. So I did it.

Then nothing. No payment, no reply. I tried calling the number they gave me, (213) 695-7431, but nobody picks up. It just feels off now.

I don’t even know if this was a real company or just someone fishing for my info. I never lost any money but I gave them my tax forms which makes me nervous.
