Paid for a puppy then got asked for more money for insurance

I found a puppy on whippetscentral.com and paid $600 for it plus $150 for delivery through Apple Pay. The address they gave was 800 City Park Ave in Columbus OH. The day they were supposed to deliver, they texted me saying I had to pay the delivery service another $800 for liability insurance. That didn't make sense to me.

I told them no and asked if I could just come pick up the puppy myself since they said they were in Columbus. After that they just stopped replying to my texts. Total I lost $750 and never got the puppy or my money back. Their email was [email protected] and the phone number was (612) 583-5045.
