Phone call about a civil matter and legal papers from Williams and Associates

Got a message from someone saying they were from Williams and Associates. They said I needed to call them back about a civil matter and that they were going to serve me with legal papers. Left a number to call, 917-825-2486.

So I called that number. The person who answered asked me what I wanted and was really rude right off the bat. They made fun of my last name, which they had spelled wrong, and then started threatening me. I didn't lose any money but it felt strange and aggressive for no reason.

Getting harassing calls about a debt from over a decade ago

I keep getting calls from Williams and Associates. They're trying to collect on some charged-off debt from HSBC back in 2010. They call me and they call my family members too.

They are very abusive and rude when they call. They threaten legal action and say they're going to put a lien on my house. It's been going on for a year now, this harassment. It just doesn't make any sense for a debt that old.
