Got a fake call from someone pretending to be Xfinity

I got a call from 857-598-2191. The person said they were Xfinity customer service. They asked for my name and my street address right away. They said they needed to verify new services ordered at my address and asked if I was moving out.

My son was listening and he said the voice sounded strange. He told me it sounded like AI, which felt off. So I hung up and called the real Xfinity number, 1-800-934-6489. The real agent confirmed that 857-598-2191 is not a number they use and told me to block it. It was definitely a scam call.

Called what I thought was Xfinity, they tried to reset my password

I was trying to get a billing question answered, so I googled the number for Xfinity customer service. I called and talked to someone. They had me ask for a code to reset my password, which I didn't even realize until after I hung up with them.

During the call, they said my promotion had expired and offered me a new, lower monthly amount. But then they said the bill would actually come from AT&T. What! That was a huge red flag. I just hung up.
