Fake email chain sent to our bookkeeper about a past due invoice

Someone sent an email to our bookkeeper that looked like it was part of a chain between me and them. It had an invoice attached with wire instructions and a W-9 form. The email said our account was past due.

It was all fake. I never sent those emails. They made it look like we owed money. No money was lost but it was a close call.
