Pink letter with a check saying I won 2.5 million dollars
The letter is from a Richie Morgan who is supposed to be the Chief Finance Officer. It congratulates me from AG Insurance, Walmart, JCPenney, MEGA Millions, and Readers Digest. All of that feels off. I never entered any of these contests.
The whole thing just seems wrong. I did not call the number and I am not depositing that check. No company name or return address on the envelope that makes sense.
Letter about a prize I never entered for
They wanted me to call a number to claim my prize. I didn't call because I don't remember signing up for anything like this. It just showed up out of nowhere. I'm not sure if this is really from them or if someone is using their name.
I'm sending this in because I don't want anyone else to get confused by it like I almost did.

Got a text saying I won money from Publishers Clearing House
A guy answered and said his name was David Sawyer. He said he was with publishers clearing house. He was talking about a prize. I didn't sign up for anything with them. The whole thing felt off so I didn't give any information. Just wanted to report this text.
Someone called my elderly mother claiming she won millions
I talked to the person myself and they were just as rude. They told her she needed to secure a CPA for $599 to get her winnings and that it wasn't a scam. They were very pushy and aggressive.
I really believe if I hadn't stepped in, she would have been a victim. The whole thing felt so wrong. The caller's number was (213) 293-5549 and they said they were in Los Angeles, CA.
Got a scam call about winning a prize from Publishers Clearing House
He said he got our name because we shopped at Walmart and spent over $30.00. He gave us check numbers and a winning prize number. Then he said all we had to do was go to Dollar General and buy two $500 money cards. After that, the prize patrol would be on their way in 2-3 days.
I knew it was a scam right from the start. I just let him talk to see what he wanted. My hang-up message for this guy wasn't pretty. He makes it sound very attractive. I hope people don't fall for it. It would have cost us $1,000.
Got a letter saying I won $750,000 from Publishers Clearing House
It felt off right away. I know these things are usually scams. I didn't call the number or anything, so I didn't lose any money. But it's still annoying to get this stuff in my mailbox, pretending to be from a real company. It just shouldn't be allowed to happen.
